Greg Rollett - Musician, marketer, entrepreneur extraordinaire

Career: Heart Surgeon at Endagon Innovations (www.endagoninnovations.com) - small interactive agency in Orlando - focus on entertainment, hospitality - mobile, social and youth.
Passions: “Music, my companies, helping others and generating a lifestyle that I can be proud of”
I can’t express just how impressed I was with Greg after this interview. I feel that I work hard and have a lot of projects under my belt, but Greg eclipses me in terms of projects started and work ethic. Not that it’s a race or that having more projects means your better, but the way he has been able to strategically start related projects that all benefit from each other is amazing.
He is not only a musician and marketer, but he has devoted a lot of his time and effort into starting a non-profit called Rock for Hunger that feeds the homeless. It’s such a great thing to see millennials that want to build an empire with their startup company, and at the same time, find the time to create a positive social change.
Check out the end of this interview where Greg spits some rhymes for us.
If you’re a band, marketer, entrepreneur, blogger, or a PERSON, you need to reach out to Greg because his passion and desire is going to rub off on you and make you more driven and compelled to succeed. Enjoy!
Conversation Breakdown
1:44 - Tell me about your position at Endagon Innovations. What does a Heart Surgeon do?
The Heart Surgeon is the main point of contact for creating brand stability for a company. Endagon focuses on helping companies utilize social media in a valuable way that gives a return on investment.
2:55 - What inspired you to start your own company?
Greg was an indie musician for 10 years where he learned how to market himself and his brand. He then went to an online marketing seminar that influenced him to start his own social media consulting firm.
3:48 - Tell me more about your music background
Greg is in the “Jay Z retirement mode,” but you can listen to his music at Stumpp Music
5:03 - Do you still keep in touch with Papa Roach and Bubba Sparxxx?
Greg leverages his music contacts to promote and find bands to play for Rock for Hunger
5:51 - Where does your passion to help the homeless and those that are in need come from?
I can’t believe that Greg has been able to grow a non-profit that plays a show every Mondy to feed the homeless. He talks about how in the very early stages of Rock for Hunger, Greg and his friends would run around the city giving homeless people peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. He’s really doing something that is making a positive difference in people’s lives.
7:48 - Tell me about Gen Y Rock Stars
Gen Y Rock Stars is a community for bands to learn about social media and how to leverage the internet to promote their music and band.
9:03 - What does “living the Rock Star life” mean?
10:03 - @sebinomics “Now that Myspace is dying, what social media should a brand pursue? And Facebook doesn’t count.”
Greg believes that brands and bands should capture and own their users/fans information. Use email lists, blogs, and utilize Tubemogul.com and ArtistData.com
12:05 - You have so many projects going on AND a wife, how are you balancing everything?
Everything that Greg does has become a part of his life. When he’s out with his friends, when he’s out at a bar, when he’s chatting with anybody, he incorporates every part of his life into the conversation so that if the person has a band, then he will tell him about Gen Y Rock Stars; if the person has a company, he will tell them about Endagon Innovations.
Greg is awesome and disciplined in that his wife time is 100% focused and un-distracted. He turns off his laptop, iPhone, and completely gives her his undivided attention.
14:16 - How were you able to land huge clients like Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, and Miller Lite?
ALL those clients came from Search Engine traffic to his blog.
We love the Life Before Noon!
16:03 - Where does the drive and motivation to do so many things come from?
Greg wants to be able to live the life that he wants to, and still be able to help people. He doesn’t want to be chained down to a desk and be told what to do. By the time he’s 35, he’s going to be in SoCal chilling at the beach with his family and a drink in his hand.
16:42 - Bring back the Burglazz. Spit some rhymes for us!

Thank you JUN for making me aware of Greg! I was looking for something like that guide he offers..
No problem Susanne. I’m glad we were able to help!
Hey Susanne - glad you stopped by and were able to find some cool stuff from my work! Let me know if you have any further questions on anything.
It’s always cool to see people on video. You get that full personality view that can be missing from blog posts, but this time I didn’t. You’re exactly how I thought you’d be Greg. Guess it’s a testament to the voice coming from your tweets and the blog. Keep rockin it! Looking forward to what’s next.
Thanks James for the kind words. Looking forward to what all of us have in store in the future!
