A person cannot know who she really is until she is tested. I believe that everyone is challenged at one point in their lives, and the choice that they make will impact them for the rest of their lives. Holly was tested, and she had the courage to turn her life around and now live a wonderful, happy life.
This is the most powerful interview we have had here at Viralogy.com. Holly is a beautiful, smart, motivated 20 something full of all the potential in the world. She seems absolutely happy with her life. If she never told you, you would never know that she used to battle against alcoholism. Holly is such a brave individual because she not only writes about her battle and how she overcame it on her blog, but she also helps other people in need of emotional support.
I want to thank Holly for being so open and sharing her experiences with us. I know that everyone who listens to this interview will benefit immensely personally and emotionally.
Conversation Breakdown:
1:36 - How has blogging changed your life?
It’s night and day for Holly. Holly has met amazing people, has started a social media club, and builds websites for people in her community, all because of her blog.
3:12 - Tell us about April 11, 2007
Holly talks to us about her alcoholism and how she overcame it. It’s absolutely amazing to hear her speak about it so openly and I’m so happy that she reaches out to others to help those in need.
6:20 - How were you able to make the transition and overcome your hardships?
Holly realized that she had hit rock bottom and decided then and there that she needed to change her life in a positive way. The 12-step program has been the most powerfel asset that has allowed her to stay sober.
7:42 - If you never had to work another day in your life again for money, what would you be doing?
Holly would be a Barista!!!
8:56 - What advice can you give to Gen-Y women about writing very personal posts on their blog?
Journal first. Before Holly publishes anything, she journals it down and reflects on the content before she puts it online.
11:21 - How did it feel when you hit the publish button on your post about your sobriety?
Holly hadn’t seen anyone write about it, and she felt that Gen Y needed to know about the realities of alcoholism. Holly felt nervous, but it was her personal manifesto.

Funny, one of my happiest moments of my life was when I worked as a barista. I have contemplated taking some vacation days off just to sub in at a local coffee shop.
Hey Daniel! I hear ya on the barista thing. I was actually able to find a local shop that let me do nights & weekends only. As they got more & more regular part-timers who wanted more hours I was able to go to just doing subbing on nights & weekends, which has been nice. Now I only go in when I want to, which is a lot of fun.
It’s incredible. A lot of people hit the rock bottom and they consider committing suicide. I love how Holly’s ability to just say “I need to change now” and execute on that. I wonder what influences a person to make one decision or another at that same moment.
Holly is an amazing person. She’s a true survivor! Great interview!
thank you for sending this to me, that was very nice of you and you are right, it does make me feel better about life
No problemo! I’m glad you loved it!
