Top 10 NBA Players On Twitter

With Twitter becoming one of the fastest growing social networks, it is no surprise that NBA players have begun using Twitter to increase their personal brand as well as increasing their fan base. From NBA players like Shaquille O’neal to teammates Steve Nash and Jason Richardson, Twitter has not only become a great networking tool for companies, but also for athletes.

The big question that is on peoples minds is which NBA player has the most influence among the rest. While most everyone is aware that Shaq is on Twitter, many people don’t know of lesser known players like Mark Madsen and Brian Cardinal. Still, they are finding their way onto peoples Follower’s list in a hurry.

The players listed only include NBA players currently playing in the NBA or at least 3 years out of the league. Our ranking system took into account the number of Followers, Updates and Retweets that each player had and are based on numbers as of May 12, 2009.

Shaq is such a dominant player when it comes to Twitter that I don’t know who will be able to replicate or pass him #’s wise. The few that I think can pass him are Dwayne Wade, Lebron, and Kobe.

I’m really surprised more players aren’t jumping on this bandwagon. It would be amazing to see what Kobe or Lebron could do with a little effort.
