10 excellent blogs! I’m also a huge fan of My open wallet (myopenwallet.net). Madame X’s blog turned me on to blogging about my finances.

I am subscribed to #4, #7, and #10.

All great sites to check out!

Just curious, using your algorithm, what score would my site get?

Thanks,
MLR

Great to know. I’ll check your site out right now.

All ranking will eventually be automatic at http://viralogy.com. Right now our algorithm must be done manually, but soon all blog members on Viralogy will be ranked with our algorithm so you can see how everyone stacks up against each other.

I’ve been really impressed with Man vs. Debt’s growth. I think his blog name is so catch (man vs wild, vs food, etc.) that it’s a great marketing tool.

Wish I had made the list. D’oh!

How did you measure the statistics of other sites? What techniques/sites did you use? I think I remembering reading about how to do it somewhere, but I can’t find it.

Also, how did you measure retweets? (ManVsDebt is the RT king!)

All is a part of our algorithm. It’s not secret, but the way we calculate each ratio is :)

For linkback, type the following on Google: link:http://theblogyouwanttocheck.com

For RTs, go to http://search.twitter.com

Jun- Another good media rank article on not known PF sites after various NBA teams. Few suggestions:

- It would have been if some kinda introduction/notes are there for each blog sites. I really can’t judge what these sites offers unless I click and go thru first page. Also, a link to their popular blog posts would have given insights on how these PF sites differ from other sites.

- What I have seen from my experience to various PF sites in last 15 months that most of the PF bloggers tend to write something every day. Now, it’s good practice to write something every day but most of the times there’s nothing new in their posts. It’s just same advice and same tools they offer. I have seen the same thing happen to Get Rich Slowly and The Simple Dollar sites. If you do not have any thing new to offer, you don’t HAVE to write.

- Why most of the sites listed here very less comments per post (less than 5)? Do bloggers analyze what to do to get visitors’ feedback? It seems like here it lies answer to my second point. Most of the visitors are tired of seeing the same thing and so, do not even bother to leave comments on same PF post.

A blog post can easily be written on how these sites are differ from successful sites like I Will Teach You to be Rich, Get Rich Slowly, and the Simple Dollar and what they could do to change it.

Cheers,
Pritesh

Hey Pritesh, thanks for your feedback. Currently I am doing all the rankings by hand using out top secret algorithm. This takes time. This post in particular took me 4 hours to write from research to finish.

Adding top blog posts and a description would take me another hour and a half; I currently do not have that kind of time.

Do most bloggers write about the same thing? I really think they do; however, as long as your adding a personal twist, then it’s all good

I’m a fan of all these sites, and it’s great to see them getting some attention here! Jun, I agree with you that too often we focus on the “big guys” when there are others doing some truly inspiring work. If you had room for eleven , I would have liked to have seen No Debt Plan included - he’s doing big things as well!

Very cool! Yea, I’ll look into No Debt Plan. Thanks

This is definitely one of the best lists compiled anywhere online. It is easy for people to rank the well known bloggers, but it is good to re-connect with the average blogger and get some great content!

Awesome list! I’ve been following a good number of these over the last few months, and the rest are going up on the reader now!

Like many of you, I’ve been amazed with the growth of Man vs. Debt.

Awesome list; and great idea. Of course, the best pf bloggers we’ve really never heard of won’t even be *on* this list:) lol…. Glad to say I’ve heard of all these blogs, too. And just did an interview with ManVs.Debt you might want to check out! BripBlap has been one of my oldest favourites and Millionaire Mommy rocks.

Sorry this is such a belated thank you, but thanks for including me on this list. The other nine blogs are terrific and I follow all of them, so I’m honored to be on the same list with them. MMND and ERE are two of my favorites. Great list! Hopefully soon - thanks in part to articles like this - we won’t be “never heard of”!

:)

Thanks again!

I learned a lot about economics through this blog. A well-written reminder to all about the impending issues that we are all going to have to deal with (or are already dealing with) in this country in the years to come.

Can’t state enough how important the sacrifices that go into wealth creation are.

Curious if anyone has caught this book yet? “The Richest Man in Town” by W Randall Jones. I’ve read half of it so far and let me tell you it is well worth it. Would like to hear what everyone else thought of it?
